Built out over the rock, the balcony is the heart of the house. It looks across the Corfu Channel to the mountains of mainland Greece, with the bell tower of the old chapel of St Stephen just below. The sun sets behind the house, so evenings here are about the view in front: the mountains turning gold and pink, the lights coming on across the water and the moon rising over Epirus.
Most rewarding after a day out is sitting quietly with a drink reading on the spectacular balcony, enjoying the view of the church tower and mainland Greece as a background.
